Microsupport

A greater number of elements may be detected by means of a thin pyrographite or glassy carbon microsupport (cross section 0.1-0.5 mm2), which is introduced into a high-temperature flame such as acetylene/nitrous oxide.

This structure is in contrast to asymmetric membranes in which thin salt barrier is formed during gelation and consist of the same material as the underlying microsupport.
