In the wake of the death of two first responders in La Trinidad town, Rep. Eric Go Yap seeks to amend the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010 or Republic Act (RA) 10121. [...] The solon is set to file a bill to amend RA 10121 on Aug. 4, particularly Section 13, as he seeks to institutionalize protection for those serving in the front lines, providing death benefits including funeral services and extending educational allowances to their children to support them through their studies.
